We collect your email address so we can send you what you asked for. We never sell it or share it with anyone except the services that make delivery work. You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time and we will do it.
Plainly Press is an imprint of iClick Solutions Inc., a Delaware company, which is the data controller for this website. Contact us about anything on this page at support@plainlypress.com.
Your email address, the date, and which guide you asked for.
Your email address and your order details. We never see or store your card number. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record; we receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded, an order reference, and your email address.
Standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you viewed, which our host records to keep the site running and secure. We also use the Meta pixel, described below.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract (delivering your purchase), consent (marketing emails and advertising cookies) and legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and preventing fraud).
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services we need to operate, each of which acts on our instructions:
We use the Meta pixel on this site so we can tell which of our advertisements lead to downloads and sales. It sets cookies in your browser and reports events such as "viewed the product page" or "completed a purchase" back to Meta. Where a purchase happens, we may also send Meta a matching server-side event, which includes a one-way hashed version of your email address so the two records can be joined without transmitting the address itself.
You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser, by using your device's tracking controls, or through your Meta ad preferences. Nothing on this site requires cookies in order to work — blocking them will not stop you buying or downloading a guide.
Order records are kept for seven years, because tax law requires it. Email subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Download links expire after 30 days.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email support@plainlypress.com and we will act within 30 days. We will never charge you for this or make it difficult.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to data portability, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described in the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know, to delete, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do not sell personal information, and you can opt out of advertising-related sharing by blocking cookies as described above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Our guides are written for adults. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. Although our guides are about young children, we never ask for and do not want any information about your child.
We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, our providers rely on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and if the change is significant we will say so by email to anyone on our list.
